What is Transformational Birth Work?

While traditional birth work often focuses on providing information, guidance, and hands-on support, this approach goes a step further by meeting clients where they are and helping them explore their own needs, values, concerns, and possibilities. Who are Birth Coach programs designed for?
Our programs are designed for aspiring and experienced doulas, childbirth educators, prenatal yoga teachers, perinatal coaches, nurses, and other professionals who support individuals through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Do I need previous birth-work experience?
No. Our doula training welcomes newcomers, so you don’t need prior birth-work experience. Our Transformational Perinatal Coaching program is designed for trained birth professionals who want to expand their skills and integrate coaching into their practice. Those new to birth work may also enroll after completing the required prerequisites. This way, both newcomers and experienced professionals can find a pathway that supports their growth.
How do I choose the right program for me?
It depends on your experience, goals, and the skills you want to develop. Our doula training is designed for those preparing to enter birth work, while Transformational Perinatal Coaching helps birth professionals expand their skills and integrate coaching into their practice. Are the programs available online?
Yes. Birth Coach offers a flexible hybrid learning model that combines online learning with live interactive sessions and practical experience. You can study recorded lessons at your own pace while participating in live sessions, practicing your skills, and connecting with instructors and fellow students. Some programs also include local in-person workshops or hands-on practice, allowing you to apply what you learn and build confidence in your work.
Can I earn CEUs through Birth Coach?
Yes. Birth Coach Method is a California Board of Registered Nursing–approved Continuing Education provider. CEUs are available for birth work professionals trained by DONA, LAMAZE, ICEA, and other certifying organizations, as well as for RNs. Eligible programs. Please check the details of each program to confirm the number of CEUs offered and whether they meet your professional requirements.
Will I receive a certificate upon completion?
Yes. Participants who meet the completion requirements receive a certificate for their respective program. Specific requirements and certification details vary by program.
